Mecal Quality Policy Statement

The objective of MECAL Ltd is to pursue the preservation of safety of life at sea and the protection of the marine environment. The policies below shall serve as frames of reference for all Director, managers and members of MECAL and concern all activities performed by and on behalf of the company.

The quality objectives of MECAL are to deliver cost effective and efficient services that meet the requirements of all parties within the framework of appropriate rules, statutory regulations and applicable statutory law whilst meeting the company objective set out above. Our objective is to deliver these services in a friendly, professional manner which is customer focused.

The integrity, as well as the professional and financial independence of the company shall always be maintained.

MECAL shall strive to have a reputation as a quality conscious, effective, reliable and service minded organisation. To achieve the quality objective, it is the policy of MECAL to apply the principles of ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management: This is a companywide commitment as detailed below:

  • Our approach to quality shall be led by management
  • All individuals in the organisation shall contribute to quality improvement throughout the business
  • Prevention of failures and mistakes shall be actively pursued and monitored.
  • We shall ensure that clients have a clear understanding of the services MECAL can deliver within the required legal framework.
  • We shall perform our duties in accordance with the written processes and procedures.
  • We shall continually evaluate our operation and performance to ensure we and our clients operate safely within the required regulations.
  • The company Professional Code of Conduct shall be observed.
  • We shall apply the quality system in the evaluation, monitoring and management of our subcontractors. The relationship to subcontractors shall be laid down in clear, unambiguous agreements showing responsibilities and authority.
  • The company management shall be informed about all major complaints from clients as well as all situations involving significant nonconformities
  • The company management shall receive reports from the various activities where quality is being measured, with the intention to monitor and develop and improve areas of concern.

  • Certification and survey records: up to 10 years
  • Financial records: 6–7 years
  • Portal activity logs: 12–24 months
