Annex 1 of WB3 enables alternative hybrid and full electric drive trains. MECAL is approved to assess such arrangements, review supporting documentation, and manage the certification process in line with MCA requirements.
MECAL provides Annex 1 certification services under the Workboat Code Edition 3 (WB3), including supporting vessels where alternative arrangements, equivalences, or risk-based solutions are proposed in place of prescriptive Code compliance.
